Chief Raises $3.3M Pre-Seed to Redefine Operational Intelligence for SaaS

Chief, a predictive operations platform built for growth-stage B2B SaaS companies, has officially launched with $3.3 million in pre-seed funding. The round was led by Dundee Venture Capital, with backing from Deepwater Asset Management, York IE, Upstream Ventures, Service Provider Capital, Monsoon Ventures, and strategic angels from Google, Meta, Yahoo!, Snapchat, and eVisit.

Solving SaaS Scale Challenges

Chief addresses a common SaaS challenge: too much data, too little actionable insight. Rather than relying on lagging dashboards, Chief uses machine learning, generative AI, and context-specific models to deliver proactive insights and real-time recommendations across key business functions.

Its AI-powered agents act as virtual operators, helping teams from Sales, CS, Marketing, Product, and Finance identify risks, optimize execution, and align strategy—all without waiting on analysts or stale dashboards.

Platform Highlights

  • Instant answers to critical business questions
  • Pipeline, churn, and spend forecasting with full visibility
  • Real-time risk detection and opportunity surfacing
  • Task ownership and execution tracking
  • A centralized operational truth across the company

Use of Funds

The funding will support continued product development and the onboarding of new enterprise and mid-market SaaS design partners. Current partners range from $10M to $300M+ ARR.

Founding Team

CEO Bret Larsen, former founder of eVisit (Goldman Sachs-backed), leads the team alongside CTO Jon Daniels. The founding team includes alumni from Google, Meta, Amazon, and advisors to top-tier brands like Netflix and Tableau.

“We’re not just reporting on what happened—we’re helping operators act before it does,” said Bret Larsen.
